Classic Material x Normski x Foot Patrol Launch 1.08.12
Next Thursday I have the honour of djing at the launch party for this dope T-shirt collaboration between Classic Material, Normski & Foot Patrol. Come down to snap up one of the limited edition tees, drink free beer & get down to the sounds of myself, Mr Thing, and Classic Material's Chris Read & Nick Armitage (aka Nickname)!
Normski exploded onto the public stage in the early 90s as presenter of the groundbreaking BBC2 programmes ‘Def 2’ and ‘Dance Energy’, broadcasting the previously under-represented elements of the UK’s black music & dance music scenes to a new audience. For many years prior to this, Normski had been documenting UK club culture and the rise of hip hop culture in the UK through photography. As a key figure in the UK’s early hip hop community, Normski enjoyed unrivaled access to the rising stars of the home grown scene and high profile touring acts from the US. Utilising the iconic imagery of Normski’s photography dating from the mid to late 1980s, Footpatrol is pleased to present a collaboration with Normski and partners Classic Material, a London based collective of music makers, designers and photographers. The collaboration takes the form of six limited edition t-shirts featurng five of Normski’s most iconic photographs featuring images of artists Big Daddy Kane, MC Lyte, Kool Moe Dee, Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav and the UK’s Demon Boyz. A sixth t-shirt bearing the Classic Material logo completes the collection.

Droppin' Science:Mr Thing, Matman & Daredevil March 3rd 2012 @ Vibe Bar
This Saturday 3rd March London's freshest hip hop party Droppin' Science returns to Vibe Bar Live, where we will be joined once again by one of our favourite guest Djs, the highly skilled Mr Thing (Extended Players/DMC Champ).
There's good reason we keep getting Mr Thing back to rock with us, as he never fails to raise the roof with his flawless selection and skill on the turntables! He will be joined by Droppin' Science residents Matman & Daredevil -both DMC champion djs themselves, if you've seen them before then you know you are in store for a fast paced selection of party bangers mixed & chopped in style all night long!
As "the greatest rapper of all time died on March 9th" we decided to pay tribute to the late great Christopher Wallace by collaborating with established London-based artist Amar Stewart on this month's flyer, and he's blessed us with this superb portrait of the Notorious one. You can of course also expect to hear plenty of Biggie classics on the night!
You can also check out our live mixshow on the day of the event, The Droppin' Science Show presents the most up to date selection of fresh hip hop you will hear, mixed & cut by DS residents Matman & Daredevil. We broadcast live from London's Upper Playground Store in central London (31 Kingly St, off Carnaby St.) from 4-6pm - pop in or watch & listen live via Sensei.fm

ROC RAIDA - OFFICIAL UK BENEFIT FUNDRAISER VIDEO
Grand Master Roc Raida: 1972 - 2009
Filmed on wednesday 27th October 2009 - Hosted by Tha En4cers (UK) in association with Vibe Bar
A very well shot & edited video montage of the roc raida tribute night - I felt honoured to be a part of it and to have shared the stage with so many UK legends..
R.I.P. Raida - My only meeting with the man was brief, at a trade show where he cut it up on the decks with my brother Dj Daredevil, for such a legendary figure it was great to discover what a humble & straight up nice guy he is - & he blessed me with a ridiculously sick mixtape drop too! I'm pretty sure the x-men video 'in x-ercise' was the first scratching video me & my brother laid our hands on - a massive inspiration. Life is way too fragile, rest in peace grandmaster.
Bonus footage! Roc Raida & Daredevil Q & A scratching:
