Matman x Never Second: Hip Hop Debuts Mix [Stream/Download]

For my collaboration mix with the dope new clothing label 'Never Second' I decided to create a mix reflecting the brand's name - featuring a combination of both debut appearances and singles from many of my favourite Hip Hop artists and groups, including a couple of b-sides and remixes.

Due to the broad scope of this theme I decided to mainly stick to including artists that I grew up listening to in the 90's for this one, but even at 50 tracks deep there are many notable exclusions here, so a sequel could be on the cards at some point!

DJ Matman - MM Mashups Vol. 1 [Free Download]

A few party-friendly mashups I put together for all the djs out there, download 'em for free via the soundcloud link below:

You can watch a video below of the most commercial sounding one of the bunch, Robin Thicke Vs. Vanilla Ice - Blurred Ice Baby - ok so this one's kinda corny, but these tracks work too well together to keep it to myself, it makes me laugh!

Little Brother - 'Curtain Call' [Download]

The first single from the new and final Little Brother Album.

Official blurb:

Critically acclaimed rap duo Little Brother are back and ready to takeover speakers for the final time together with their new album, LeftBack. Dropping on April 20th via Hall of Justus, LeftBack will mark the end of an illustrious career by partners in rhyme Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh. The album features production from the likes of Khyrsis, Denaun Porter, J.Bizness and guest vocals from Torae, Truck North, Jozeemo, Chaundon, Median, and more. The send-off for the North Carolina hip-hop heavyweights begins with the release of "Curtain Call," the poetically titled first single from LeftBack. Rapper Big Pooh sets the tone for the album by declaring that "this is it, the last monologue / last act in the play, you could say the epilogue." A booming synth line, driving bass and staccato drum pattern intertwine to provide the backdrop for the occasion, while Phonte drives home the album's message by rapping "You know we don't quit / but when it's curtain call then that's all you gonna get." The song "basically sums up the history of our career as Little Brother," says the duo. "This is the last first single you will hear from Little Brother."
